American Red Cross And U.S. Water Patrol looking to from partnership.

The U.S.Water Patrol and the American Red Cross is working on a plan to conduct Disaster assessments using USWP/USWPMP mounts,boats and members.
 
U.S Water Patrol members will assist the American Red cross by using Boats, Horses and trained USWP members to gain access to Areas inaccessible by vehicle or on foot due to high water, debris, or other obstructions may potentially need water craft and/or personnel mounted on horseback to gain entry for area damage assessments or delivery of bulk supplies to stranded residents.ccessible areas to do emergency Disaster assesments on horsesback and/or by boat. More information to come.

USWP  in Osaka and Tokyo Japan in 2012
Plans are in the works to open a Volunteer Homeland Security & Public Safety office in Osaka and possibility Tokyo as well in Mid 2012. More info later.

USWP makes it's 100th Mounted Patrol
On 09-11-2011: The Louisville KY Station's Mounted Patrol Team makes it's 100th Mpunted patrol today after starting a year ago. The patrol lasted 7 hours and covered an area of about 11 miles.
The patrol was done by 1 active, 1 Resurve and 1 JOC member. We look to foward to another 100 patrols.

President's Volunteer Service Awards
In just 2 years the U.S Water Patrol members have as of this Date loged in 99.326.99 hours with the Presidents Volunteer Service Awards. Job well done to all.

River View Station gets Patrol / Rescue Boat
Louisville KY. River view Station in Southwest Louisville has a new Patrol / Rescue boat. The boat was donated to the U.S. Water Patrol by the estate of Mr. Thomas Geraty. The 1974 Chris Craft Express Cruiser will be used on the Ohio River as a long range patrol / rescue boat conducting river patrols from Louisville KY to Evansville, IN. and back. The boat will also be used as a Sea Scout Ship and training. The boat will be equipped with Radar / sonar as well as other electronics including night vision equipment, Elect navigation. The boat will also carry emergency & Rescue equipment.
At this time the boat is undergoing a refitting and upgrading and is planed to be in operation on or around 08/28/2011 The boat will be christened as PBR-73 Call sign CINDY-B the future Home port will be West Point, KY.
