Sea Scout Ship 65,  is a aquatic division of the Boys Scouts of America in the Metro Louisville area.  Serving both male and female youth from ages 14 to 20,  Ship-65 promote's Seamenship & water safety while at the same time making it fun!

  The Sea Scouts have a rich heritage in Louisville, and Ship 65 will add to the traditions with honor and pride.  Our Ship will provide programs for youth on both the upper and lower Ohio River as well as other water ways in and out of Kentucky .  Our sponsor the United States Water Patrol will graciously help kept our ship sailing .  Here are a some things that you can expect from the B.S.A. Sea Scout's  

Activities: Our programs will include  River cruising, Sailing, Small boat handling, Scuba Diving, Boat Navigation, Overnight Camping & Boat trips, and much more! Our Sea Scouts become true Seamen. 

Leadership: Gain important skills and experience by holding an officer position. Ship 65 is a  youth ran program! You Help call the shots in this important program.

Advancement: Reaching  your potential through the Boy Scouts of America advancement program. While you learn you gain rank toward the coveted Quartermaster award. Also earn Venturing Gold and Silver awards. Former Boy Scouts can continue to earn their Eagle while in Sea Scouts.Friends: Make life-long friends and learn from dedicated adult advisors. Our Ship is indeed a family!

The objectives of Ship 65 are as followes:

                                                      To maintain our fleet

                                                      To provide community servive

                                                      To promote Sea Scouting in a positive light

 


   We ask that all our Sea Scouts contribute to the ship by  helping with general boat maintenance, participating in fundraising activities, and obtaining a uniform for formal occasions. Sea Scout Members must be able to pass Boy Scout swim tests, and complete the Boy Scouts of America Class 1 medical form.

          

 

Sea Promise

As a Sea Scout,
I promise to do my best:

To guard against water accidents

To know the location and proper use of the lifesaving devices on every boat I board

To be prepared to render aid to those in need

The Sea Scouts is a non-profit organization and operates soley on donations from local businesses, foundations and individuals.

ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTABLE

We accept donations of cash, supplies, or equipment related to our program. We also accept donated boats. Our needs cover a very wide range of goods and services for operation and maintenance of our boats and facilities, also supplies for cruising such as food, fuel, safety supplies, and training supplies.
We often trade goods and services with other Sea Scout units in the area, so if you don't think we can use it we may be able to trade with other units who do have a need for it.
